interesting to find out black label is brewed in south africa and is sometimes called (in slang) "tomato" and "red bull". it is also known as "the black man's beer" because it is much higher in alcohol content and "the white man wont touch it". anybody going to south africa?

Sun, April 10, 2005 - 9:56 PMA good buddy of mine is a paleoanthropologist that lives in South Africa 6 months a year. I can make some inquiries for you. I am sure he will report valid, scientific information. I took him on his first death trip--Old E, Pot and some of my home made cooking. He was puking and having visions for hours.

Yeah, South Africans drink it - it ain't bad. And it is definitely a
low-class beer - though not as low class as Milk Stout is. I actually
like it - like guiness - but most decent restaurants won't stock it, since
they think it is a little 'black township'.
